Privacy Policy

Diveryo ("we," "us," or "our") lets you discover dive sites, log your own dives, plan trips, and connect with other divers. This page explains exactly what information we collect, why, and what control you have over it.

What we collect

Here's the complete list. If it isn't on this list, we don't collect it.

What	Why
Email address	To create and secure your account (sign-in only - we don't use it for marketing).
Display name, certification level, dive count	Shown on your profile and to other divers you interact with.
Dive log entries (site, date, depth, duration, temperature, notes)	This is your personal logbook - only you can see entries unless you choose to share them.
Buddy connections (who you follow, who follows you)	Powers the buddy request/accept system and your buddy activity feed.
Messages and group chat content	Delivered between you and the people you're messaging - stored so your conversation history persists.
Photos you upload	For your gallery, community photo boards, and Media Studio color correction. Media Studio's actual color-correction processing happens on your device - we never see or store the original, unedited photo unless you separately choose to post it.
Marketplace listings you create	To show your gear listings to other divers.
Blocks and reports you submit	To enforce the blocks you set and review reported content, in line with App Store and Play Store safety requirements.

What we don't collect:

We do not access your device's location (GPS). We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers. Some features - like your Trip Planner shortlist and species checklist progress - are stored only on your own device and never sent to our servers at all.

How your information is used

To operate the core features of the app: your logbook, buddy connections, messages, and trip planning.
To show your profile, dive activity, and photos to other divers you're connected with or who search for you.
To let you report or block other users, and for us to review those reports.
To keep your account secure and prevent abuse.

Who can see your information

Other divers can see your public profile, dive activity you choose to share, and anything you post to community boards or the marketplace.
People you message or group-chat with can see the content of those conversations.
We (Diveryo) can access your data only as needed to operate, maintain, and secure the service, or to review a report you or someone else has filed.
We never sell your data to third parties, and we don't share it with advertisers.

Where your data lives

Account and app data is stored with our backend infrastructure provider (Supabase), which uses industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Some data - like your Trip Planner and local preferences - stays only on your device and is never uploaded.

Your choices and rights

Access and correct: you can view and edit your profile, dive log, and listings directly in the app at any time.
Delete: you can remove individual dive logs, photos, messages, and listings yourself. To delete your entire account and associated data, contact us at the email below.
Block and report: you can block any other user at any time from their profile or a message thread, and unblock them later from your profile's Blocked Divers list.
Marketing: we don't send marketing email, so there's nothing to opt out of.

Children's privacy

Diveryo is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you in the app.
